Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
When my children were in Elementary I would often volunteer at the school. Finally one day they asked to hire me in for a paraprofessional job. Sometime I was in the office, but often assigned to a student who needed extra care or structure. I would stay with the students all day, helping with schoolwork or just keeping them on task. Often these were the kids who had trauma in their life and it was rewarding to seethe change between “why are you here” and “I trust you”
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
My favorite activity is taking kids outside and exploring the yard or neighborhood. We look for different colors, textures, and objects. I like to stop, and listen, what can we hear from here. We touch things, leaves, pinecones, fire hydrants and we give them names, and decided are they smooth, or rough. Exploring outside is amazing, watching kids recognize something from our last walk!

The most important part about being g a nanny is to listen to the direction the parents are taking things, bedtime ritual for example. If they are making changes, I always ask how they would like me to proceed with the routine or when the child does not want to do things that way. I always strive to be a part of the solution, not enhance the problem
The most important part about being a nanny...
I have favorite moments with all my kids I nanny for. One little guy had gone on vacation with his family for a week. We I walked in the door he put down his toy, walked/ran to me and asked for up! It’s good to be loved!
