I’ve worked as a babysitter on Fort Dix base, as well as at Growville and KinderCare, caring for children from newborns to 13 years old. I gained this experience during high school and continued through college. I also worked as a student volunteer for Club DREAM during high school.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to plan activities that are both fun and engaging. I enjoy taking them to the park for some fresh air and outdoor play, having fun with their favorite toys inside, and getting creative with lots of crafts. I always aim to create a safe, happy environment where they can express themselves, use their imagination, and just enjoy being kids. Whether it’s painting, building, or simply playing make-believe, I try to tailor the day to what brings them the most joy while keeping things safe and age-appropriate.
My experience with special needs children...
I had the opportunity to student volunteer with Club Dreams, where I worked with children with Down syndrome. I helped teach them subjects like Spanish, math, and English. I would build fun lesson plans and games to help make the learning experience fun for everyone! It was a truly rewarding experience that taught me a lot about patience, creativity, and the importance of meeting each child where they are. Building those connections and seeing their excitement when they learned something new was such a special part of my time there.
