A little bit about me

I am a loving and caring person with over 25 years of child care-related experience in a variety of settings, including but not limited to special needs. I am organized and strict when needed, but I also know how to relax, be flexible, and have fun. I love fun and educational activities and outings with kids. I love working with kids as it is my life, but I also have a great deal of other personal interests. I also have gained a great deal of patience. I am also a mother myself, this lends its own level of experience. I spent the first five years after my oldest was born continuing work as a nanny and taking him with me. My two oldest are currently with their dad in Texas, so the only one that would be with me is my6-year-old that learned early on that I expect the same of them as I do any other child, in most cases, I expect more. I treat the children in my care with as much love and affection as I do my own.

I have worked in a local YMCA, church nursery, and Sunday school classrooms as well as being a nanny for more than twenty years. I have a Bachelor's degree in Early childhood education and Development with a minor in Psychology.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being present. You are an extension of the parents in their absence. The nanny is the child's beginning into the world of education and into the world itself while the parents are away. It is important that a nanny is nurturing in all aspects of care being mindful of this.
