More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
With over six years of paid experience, I have served as a lead teacher for infant, toddler, and pre-kindergarten rooms. I have tutored children up to age 15 and worked with children in homeless shelters and those requiring extra assistance. My experience also includes after-school programs and extracurricular activities such as art, drama, music, and sports. I have been both a babysitter and a full-time live-in nanny. Most recently, I was a live-in nanny for three years, caring for two children, aged 4 years and 6 months. I supported their mother during maternity leave and continued to care for the children full-time when both parents returned to work.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I engage children in a variety of fun and educational activities to support their growth and development. I have taken them to swim lessons to build their confidence in the water and visit trampoline parks for some energetic playtime. Arts and crafts are a big part of my routine, where we do painting, coloring, sculpting clay, and DIY themed projects that spark creativity.
To support their academic growth, I incorporate learning materials similar to what they use in school, helping them with subjects like math and reading. I also explore music by learning to play instruments, which is both fun and educational. I am relearning how to play the violin and piano and would love to bring that into the children’s lives.
I can teach them sign language, which enhances their communication skills and understanding of different ways to express themselves. I enjoy going on walks, reading books together, and attending library story time sessions to foster a love for reading.

My experience with special needs children...
I have had the privilege of working with children diagnosed with autism, providing them with the extra attention and care they need. Understanding that each child is unique, I tailor my approach to meet their specific needs. I create a structured and predictable environment, which helps them feel secure and reduces anxiety.
Communication is key, so I incorporate techniques like using simple, clear language and visual cues to enhance their understanding. For non-verbal children, I use tools such as pictures and sign language to facilitate communication.
Engaging in sensory activities is also important, as it helps them process sensory information more effectively. I introduce activities like sensory bins, weighted blankets, and calming exercises to help regulate their sensory input. Additionally, I focus on developing social skills by organizing small group activities and role-playing scenarios to practice interaction in a safe and supportive setting.

The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was when I was watching the little girl who I was a live-in nanny for. We had just put down her baby brother for a nap and that was her favorite time because she got to have one-on-one time with me. She said she wanted a cheese stick and wanted to play with her legos. So as we were snacking and playing, she comes over to me, hugs me and says, “Tori you’re my bestie and I love you”. I will never forget that moment. I had watched her since she was one, about three years before her little brother was born and just knowing that I could still take time for her to feel loved and appreciated meant the world to me. I still go and see her on the weekends and have play dates with her!

Babysitter Available in Carson City, NV: Allyson S.
Hi! I'm a caring, dependable childcare professional with over eight years of experience working with children from infancy through elementary school. I spent five years as a Kindergarten and 1st Grade teacher after three years in Early Childhood Education, giving me a strong background in child development and creating engaging, supportive environments for children to learn and grow.
I love helping children build confidence through play, creativity, and exploration. Crafts are one of my favorite activities, but I'm always excited to join in on whatever sparks a child's interests—whether that's outdoor adventures, games, reading, imaginative play, or learning something new.
Families describe me as patient, organized, and easy to communicate with. My goal is to provide a safe, fun, and nurturing environment where children feel loved, supported, and encouraged to be themselves.

Live-In Full-Time Nanny Available in Carson City, NV: Belle C.
I am the 2nd child of 8 children. I have been learning how to care for children since I was about 5 y/o. My mom was a stay-at-home mom and so I spent my life primarily at home with her and all my siblings. I have 1 older brother, 5 younger sisters and a younger brother. We all have been homeschooled, and two of eight (number two being me) have graduated from my mom's school, the "oicas academy".
I nannied for two families in the last few years and now work at a daycare. Working with kids has always been my passion. I am looking to get back into being a nanny because I feel it is a much more caring environment that helps the kids grow and learn on a more individual level. I am hoping to be a light to the kids and help them grow into successful and responsible people in the world.
