In 1989, one afternoon when I was caring for 17 month old twin boys, I was in the middle of the process of teaching them how to walk independently. I had just finished getting the second twin on his feet and released his hands, and he walked two steps over to his twin brother, held his hand. They both walked hand in hand over to their dachsund dog, reached down their other open hands to the dog, and the dog licked both of the twins' open hands! I wish that I'd had a camera or camcorder at the time to take a picture or video of that- it was so precious!
