Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy reading books to children; Disney + is the best investment I’ve ever made, not only for the child but myself as well; there are a ton of board games you can never go wrong with on a rainy day. For lovely sunny days, the park is always fun, bike rides, and ice cream, or if there is a carnival in town, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to play some games and eat some cotton candy.
The most important part about being a nanny...
What matters to me is that the child builds a relationship with someone they can trust. Being a nanny means you fill in the gaps a parent can’t, but it also means being a friend and making that child feel like they can grab the world and morph it into whatever they want it to be. I want all my kids to feel so comfortable being different that normal is weird to them. Because there is no such thing as normal.
My experience with special needs children...
I have never dealt with special needs children before, I’m aware of ADHD which I don’t particularly consider special but it may be different to some people. I do have experience with challenging issues, as a caregiver I had to deal with last stage dementia patients, so a little nudge here and there will not be a problem
The most important part about being a nanny...
Watching a baby girl walk for the first time, and then moments later dance to Spanish music and try to sing along, off key. Or seeing her get excited and race toward me when I walk thru the door.
