A little bit about me

Hello Parents! My name is Emily, I’m 19, and relatively new to Breckenridge CO! Ever since growing up with younger cousins I’ve known that I wanted to work with kids. Aside from years of regular babysitting, I have also worked at a church nursery with kids aged 6 weeks to 6 years for 2 years, and recently worked another 2 years at a daycare with kids of all ages. I have taken multiple child development classes at the high school and college level, and have also been a TA in a preschool classroom. I’m known for always bringing a bag of “surprises” (crafts/coloring supplies/etc.) that has so far been beloved by many of the kiddos I’ve watched. I have very open availability and am looking for long term work or short term/date nights. I look forward to making new connections in this community!

A little bit about me

Ive worked in Breckenridge with 3-14 year olds over the last two years. First as a swim instructor/camp counselor at Breckenridge Recreation Center, and now I’m working at Little Red Schoolhouse as a preschool teacher. I am working towards going to grad school but the prices of Summit County have left me unable to save much of anything. I would still love to stay in this beautiful town, work with kids and save money until the time comes. I’m looking to be a live in nanny come January 2024, when my lease is up. If I find somewhere else to stay when this lease ends, I could be a live out nanny. But seeing how housing goes in this town, especially in the winter, Im not sure what will work out. If I was a live in nanny I’d take $20/hour but if I would need to pay for rent I would need around $25/hour.

A little bit about me

I am a 25 year old who loves children. I currently am a lead teacher of over 2 years for a 2-3 year old childcare class room. I love getting to watch these little ones grow and move on towards pre school every year. I have always been the one to hang around with the kids at family gatherings. I have previously worked in an other daycare as a float working with ages from 3 month - 12 years old. I love to ski, make music, love to play card/board games, and just have fun. I would love nothing more than to connect with your family and become a special part of it.

A little bit about me

Hi! I’ve lived in Breck for the past 5 years and have nannied and worked in preschools throughout that time. i’ve realized i’ve needed more flexibility in my schedule and would love to start nannying again! I have worked in an infant room the past 2 and half years so that tends to be the age I’m most comfortable with but I also have a degree in elementary education!

A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Maya and I’m a super friendly, high-energy 23 year old who loves working with kids! I have experience nannying, tutoring, and babysitting. I love to cook and clean, and adore all pets. Most recently I nannied a 1.5 year old toddler, but in previous years I have watched kids from 6 months to 15 years. I’ve had CPR and first aid training before, and have no problem getting them again. Please reach out if you are looking for a fun and reliable person to watch your kids!

A little bit about me

I have been working in childcare since I was 14. My mother owned and operated a childcare and preschool and my passion for caring for the next generation started pretty early. I have worked as a live-in nanny, a part-time sitter, and a preschool teacher. I have supervised the Mount Hood Meadows Childcare and worked in a myriad of childcare positions. I enjoy nannying vs working at daycare because of the more personal connection I am able to make with the children in my care. I am an avid outdoor enthusiast and a lover of books and love working with families that share similar values.

Understand Babysitter Responsibilities in Breckenridge, CO

Before beginning the search for a babysitter, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a babysitter is the right choice for your child care needs. There are lots of benefits to hiring a babysitter such as getting the flexibility of having some more time for yourself or with your partner. When hiring a babysitter, first, you should explore the differences between a nanny and a babysitter. If you’re looking for occasional child care, babysitters are the right choice for you, but if you’re looking for more frequent care, a nanny may be better for your needs.

From there, you can think about what you expect your babysitter to handle so that you can create a profile for nannies to reach out to you. The boundaries for babysitters’ duties can vary from family to family. However, in general, a babysitter is responsible for making sure your kids’ needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example to housekeeping, laundry, or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your babysitter before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location in Breckenridge can impact how much you pay your babysitter.

Breckenridge Babysitter Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective babysitters, the next step is to conduct an interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some babysitter interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a babysitter?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open and comfortable doing?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Colorado?
  • Do you have a Colorado driver’s license? Do you own a car?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a babysitter that you’re considering hiring, make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your babysitter. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around babysitter responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming!

And of course, as you learn how to hire a babysitter, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
