I myself have two small nephews( 2 and 4) that I often babysit. However, for the past 2 years I have been babysitting for and have found some wonderful families and children that I work for. Currently in RI I babysit four school children three times a week and often weekends and provide pickup from school and homework help. As I am a college student, tutoring is something I am able to provide as well.

Hello, My name is Ali and I am currently a college student but will be home from May to September for summer break. I will be available all days and times. I am usually a camp counselor for children ages 5-7 in the summer, but due to low income I am looking to find a babysitting position. I have experience with children all ages. I used to work at a day care but had to leave due to going to college, but when i was there, I was constantly with the children from infant-age 3. I love those ages! In addition, last year I was a student teacher at North Pembroke Elementary School. I know lots of fun songs and games that children love through camp counseling and teaching. I know some great outdoor games to play in the summer! I will have my own transportation. If you have any more questions please let me know! I would love to hear back from you.

Here is a little bit about my experience. I nannyed part-time for a family of 3 kids ages 5, 9 and 12 years old. Before that for about 8 months I was a full-time nanny for 2 little girls who are 2 and 4 years old. I worked around 52 and a half hours a week for their family! I baby-sit/nanny for all ages from 2 weeks to 14 years old. I enjoy working with children and plan to major in early childhood education. I have also worked at a couple of daycares and a day camp. I also nannyed for a 5 year old and his 3 month old twin siblings. I also babysit for a family with 4 kids, 3 are triplets. I do overnights with them sometimes and started watching them when the triplets were about 2 and their older sister was 5. And in 2006 I nannyed for two little boys ages 2 and 6.I have much more experience and I am not afraid of hard work or long hours. I am hands on and like to do many things with the children such as but not limited to the beach, the playgrounds, going for walks, arts and crafts, playing games, and bringing them to the zoo and other fun places.

I am a 24-year-old student at Bridgewater State University pursuing my degree in Elementary Education. I have been babysitting for my own family and for other families for the past 9 years. I am comfortable with multiple children and dogs. I have experience babysitting for families with 2 sets of twins, a family with 4 girls under 14, a family with a Down Syndrome 5-year-old and a newborn, and many other families. I do not have any of my own children, but I do have 2 dogs. For the past 6 summers I have worked as a paraprofessional in a summer preschool class for children with Autism. I was a vegetarian for a year and a vegan for 6 months of that year. I am very health conscious and enjoy exercise. I love to read, play outside, go to the beach, bake/cook, and be creative with kids.

Understand Babysitter Responsibilities in Pembroke, MA

Before beginning the search for a babysitter, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a babysitter is the right choice for your child care needs. There are lots of benefits to hiring a babysitter such as getting the flexibility of having some more time for yourself or with your partner. When hiring a babysitter, first, you should explore the differences between a nanny and a babysitter. If you’re looking for occasional child care, babysitters are the right choice for you, but if you’re looking for more frequent care, a nanny may be better for your needs.

From there, you can think about what you expect your babysitter to handle so that you can create a profile for nannies to reach out to you. The boundaries for babysitters’ duties can vary from family to family. However, in general, a babysitter is responsible for making sure your kids’ needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example to housekeeping, laundry, or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your babysitter before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location in Pembroke can impact how much you pay your babysitter.

Pembroke Babysitter Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective babysitters, the next step is to conduct an interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some babysitter interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a babysitter?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open and comfortable doing?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Massachusetts?
  • Do you have a Massachusetts driver’s license? Do you own a car?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a babysitter that you’re considering hiring, make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your babysitter. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around babysitter responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming!

And of course, as you learn how to hire a babysitter, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
