A little bit about me
I am a funny, compassionate realist who has a passion for travel, vision boards, thick novels, old furniture, nostalgic hobbies (puzzles, knitting, sewing) and sharing good food and drink with family and friends. I am the middle of three girls and my sisters are my best friends. I have lived in Nashville for 21 years now and still enjoy exploring the city and creating new adventures. I believe relationships that we enter into with other people, including children, are impactful and meaningful regardless to time or circumstance. Those relationships influence and and shape who we are and stick with us through our lives. I love having the opportunity to be a happy part a child’s (and family’s) life and memories.

A little bit about me
Ever since I can remember, I have loved working with kids and babies. I started babysitting for the next door neighbor and church friends when I was 14. From that time on, I have continued babysitting through high school, college, and even shortly after I moved here. I have the Sitter App, and am part of Urban Sitter, Sittercity.com, and Care.com.
Because I enjoy children, I don't mind watching them on weeknights and weekends despite spending all day with a class full of littles. I often pick up gigs from new parents with these websites and apps and sometimes become a regular for parents.
The "nanny" reference on here is really a regular babysitting job where I would babysit the same boy 2-4 times a week and sometimes keep him for a few days when parents went somewhere on a trip. However, I have not nannied exclusively before.
I was raised to give 100% to any job I was given, so I enjoy hard work. You can be assured that the only time my phone would come out would be if everyone was watching tv/a movie, everyone was asleep, or if I was taking pictures of the kiddos for the parents. As a kindergarten teacher, I have experience being creative!
Activities with the child(ren) would be creative, active, brain engaging on occasion or if requested, and involve as little screen time as possible! I would strive to create trusting and solid relationships with both the children and parents.
A family should hire me as a nanny if they want someone who will remain alert to the safety of their children at all times, love their children, and provide a fun experience during the time of responsibility.
I am currently a part of a volunteer fire department in Hendersonville and just have to take my national registry to become certified as an Emergency Medical Responder. In Florida, I served as an EMR for 2 years. I am also certified ...

Understand Babysitter Responsibilities in Nashville, TN
Before beginning the search for a babysitter, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a babysitter is the right choice for your child care needs. There are lots of benefits to hiring a babysitter such as getting the flexibility of having some more time for yourself or with your partner. When hiring a babysitter, first, you should explore the differences between a nanny and a babysitter. If you’re looking for occasional child care, babysitters are the right choice for you, but if you’re looking for more frequent care, a nanny may be better for your needs.
From there, you can think about what you expect your babysitter to handle so that you can create a profile for nannies to reach out to you. The boundaries for babysitters’ duties can vary from family to family. However, in general, a babysitter is responsible for making sure your kids’ needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example to housekeeping, laundry, or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your babysitter before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location in Nashville can impact how much you pay your babysitter.
Nashville Babysitter Interviews
Once you start connecting with prospective babysitters, the next step is to conduct an interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some babysitter interview questions to consider asking:
- Do you have experience being a babysitter?
- What sort of household tasks are you open and comfortable doing?
- Do you have any references?
- Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Tennessee?
- Do you have a Tennessee driver’s license? Do you own a car?
- How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a babysitter that you’re considering hiring, make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your babysitter. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around babysitter responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming!
And of course, as you learn how to hire a babysitter, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
