A little bit about me

Im a fluent English speaker from South Africa in the USA for 9 years now, with pure and unjustified love for children as seeds of this earth. I have taken care of children for as long as I can imagine, coming from a family of 15 kids, growing up I felt joy participating in community service programs in helping Youth. In my past experiences I worked in orphanages, child abuse shelters as well as developing a library in an underprivileged city called Hilbrow in South Africa, this had me elected as Youth Hero for The LeadSA leading me to do a Youth development program assisting girls with sanitary towels and toiletries with Glam Girls Club. I am a hardworking individual, who believes in the growth of knowledge with no limitations. The reason as to why I enjoy being company to children is because I believe they are the future generation that we will all look to in making the world and Humanity a lot more successful than it is.

"Andżelika worked for our family twice as a live-in Au Pair, for one year in 2017 and for nearly two years in 2021-2022, she continues to work for us a few days per month for weekends now. Our daughter was 3~ when Andżelika joined us the first time, and 6-7 on the second time. Andżelika was incredibly *reliable* which was was important for us. I can't recall her ever being sick or needing to miss a day of work. She bonded well with our daughter, who feels safe with her. Andżelika did not require a lot of guidance unless it was an area we asked her to follow very specific rules, these were great traits. Andżelika is an excellent driver, she drove multiple of our vehicles with our child and never had any incidents, no tickets, no accidents. Andżelika is a sweet, caring woman that you can trust your kids with. She will do fun arts and crafts, she will get them to and from school, she will keep them safe and happy. Please let us keep using her for date nights! hah!"

A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Rocío, I’m 28 years old, and I’m from Mexico. Spanish is my first language. I’m married and work as an occasional babysitter. I really enjoy spending time with children and helping them learn simple Spanish words and phrases.
I also love doing crafts, cooking with kids, going for walks, and taking them to the park so they can have fun.
Sometimes, my husband comes with me while I babysit. He usually stays in the background and doesn’t get involved unless the kids want to play with him. But if this makes you uncomfortable, please let me know and I’ll come alone.
I speak English with some mistakes since it’s not my first language, but I can communicate and make myself understood. If that’s not a problem for you and you have some patience, I’d love to work with your family.
Usually, I will ask for a written list of things you would like me to do with your little ones.

A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Saige, but those who know me often call me Gee. I have been a nanny for around 6 years, and have been babysitting since even before then. I have an AA degree in Child Development, and am currently a nursing student. My classes are online however, which allows me to have more flexibility in hours for my employment. I am very friendly, active, and have been fortunate enough to work with kids across all ages at this point in my nanny career. I have been so blessed by finding great families that I feel respected, and loved in. I love working with children, and plan to do so even after I have finished my nursing schooling. I love animals, but am unfortunately allergic to cats. I have experience with: soccer, horseback riding, swimming, meal prep, light housekeeping pertaining to the children, nap time, and planning activities. I am looking to work with a great family as I have recently moved here from NorCal. Let me know if I sound like a good fit for your family :)

"Saige was my child’s favorite nanny! She watched our now 6 year old girl for around 3 years. She loved Saige so much, and we could tell that Saige loved her. She is reliable, punctual, and was always on time. She did light meal prep and even though cleaning up wasn’t in her list of job responsibilities, we always came home to a clean kitchen and picked up living room. We wish she was still here in town, and know she has a bright future."

A little bit about me

I am 27 years old and I've been working as a private nanny for 10 years. I've completed a CPR/ First Aid course for Infants, children & Adults. I also have a son who is nearing 6 months old. I am looking for a job where i can bring him with me. I love the outdoors, cooking, & learning new skills. I've worked with a few families where I often drive the kids to places like the beach or aquariums on day trips. Each family I worked with had 2 -3 kids, ages 1 - 14 years old. But, i have also helped in hosting large events like birthday parties for clients with about 14 children in attendance. I choose to work with children because i absolutely enjoy how they see the world. They're amazed by the small things that you grow up to look over and they have no qualms about telling you their honest opinions. I love to foster that feeling of wonder and help them to also love new things, be it basics like academics , art, or new foods. I also love animals & teach about them as well.

"Bianca is very caring and kind. She always listened to my kids and followed my rules and instructions. She always kept me informed about what went on with my kids during the day or night. She was a very safe driver with the kids. My children had nothing but respect and good things to say about her. They were always happy and cheerful when I came back home. She even helped them out with their homework. During shelter in place she was amazing to come and provide respite during the weekday. I highly recommend her. She’s even good with pets. My German shepherd loved her. Bianca would take my kids and dog for hikes and they all loved it."

"Carol watched my 2 kids ( 6 and 3 yo) while my husband and I worked from home. She was always punctual and always had a positive attitude. My kids adored Carol and her loving, warm and fun personality. They looked forward to having her watch them. She was really connected and engaged with the kids in whatever activities they were doing. She's responsible, patient, and flexible. Sometimes our plans changed and even with short notice she would do her best to help us. Carol is a gem! We were very fortunate to have her. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and thrust worthy person to watch their kids."

"Rosalie was such a great care taker to our 1.5 year old during her time here. Her vibe just screams nurturing and it gets backed up with all the activities and interaction she had with our little one. She brought our baby out to the back yard to explore nature and even taught her a lot about parts of the tree and how to identify different species. During snack times she helped reinforce the signing we were currently teaching and even went above and beyond by expanding the signs that our little one currently knew. I would definitely recommend Rosalie to anyone who is looking to have their child watched by her."

How to Find a Babysitter in Sacramento, CA

Nanny Lane is a child care website meant to help you find a babysitter in your area. Our child care services include background checks, PLUS, and payroll.

Understand Babysitter Responsibilities in Sacramento, CA

Before beginning the search for a babysitter, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a babysitter is the right choice for your child care needs. There are lots of benefits to hiring a babysitter such as getting the flexibility of having some more time for yourself or with your partner. When hiring a babysitter, first, you should explore the differences between a nanny and a babysitter. If you’re looking for occasional child care, babysitters are the right choice for you, but if you’re looking for more frequent care, a nanny may be better for your needs.

From there, you can think about what you expect your babysitter to handle so that you can create a profile for nannies to reach out to you. The boundaries for babysitters’ duties can vary from family to family. However, in general, a babysitter is responsible for making sure your kids’ needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example to housekeeping, laundry, or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your babysitter before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location in Sacramento can impact how much you pay your babysitter.

Sacramento Babysitter Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective babysitters, the next step is to conduct an interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some babysitter interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a babysitter?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open and comfortable doing?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in California?
  • Do you have a California driver’s license? Do you own a car?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a babysitter that you’re considering hiring, make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your babysitter. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around babysitter responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming!

And of course, as you learn how to hire a babysitter, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
