A little bit about me

Hello! I am currently an experienced Para Educator in a local school district and absolutely love working with kids. My past nannying experience includes working full time with triplet three year old girls, working with young infants and toddlers, and working in a professional capacity with ages 5-12. I am well versed in balancing the needs of multiple children. I am currently in school earning my dual degree in Elementary/Special Education and have a 10 year old child of my own. As a caregiver I am incredibly attentive, patient, responsible, loving, engaging, and communicative. I am mindful and respectful of boundaries and strive to have open, honest communication! Outdoor time, reading, puzzles, music, activities, arts and crafts, etc. are all important elements to creating a fun, positive environment. I am a non smoker with a clean background check, clean driving record, and a fully insured, safe vehicle. My availability is currently part time, but I could be open to full time.

A little bit about me

I worked in a child care center and have taken care of children for over 20 years. I have attended classes and have ECE credits and an Assistant Teaching certificate. I have worked with all age groups infant to 12 years of age. I nannied for a few years until both children started school full time then I went back to child care because at the time I needed full time work. I love engaging and interacting with young children. We homeschool our daughter 4 days a week 3-4 hours a day and then love having other kids for her to interact with. I would also like to continue working with other children and am hoping to find a family that we can grow close with and the children can become great friends. So, the idle family would be ok with me bringing my child along with me or bringing the child/children to me. I am set up with a guest bedroom and have a pack and play, a bouncy seat and a high chair in my home.

A little bit about me

My name is Hadassah, and I've lived in Lynden. WA for a little over a year! I'm happily looking for a family I can help through childcare, part-time or occasionally .

In summer 2022 I spent 5 months (spring/summer) in Africa with a family where I watched over their 5 children(ages 4 months, 2, 4, 5, and 6). We did a lot of play time, naps, lunch, imaginary pay, books, and watched older sisters play, basically spent 18 hours a day with them.
In summer 2023, I nannied another family that had 5 kids (ages 3, 4 (x2), 7, & 10). We often did crafts, coloring, walks on their farm, went to parks/playground and did some light housekeeping and made lunches. I enjoyed that but it was just for the summer!
And then most recently, from June 2024 to November, I nannied a 20 month old. I stopped to be near family but I loved it! We we went to toddler programs (dancing, art classes), strolled to parks and different places, did lunches, naps, and read lots of books and playtime.

A little bit about me

During my high school summers, I cared for a child who was in elementary school and have many fun memories together playing outside and many different games. I have also babysat for different children throughout the years ranging in ages from infants to 10-year-olds. I have also cared for families with multiple children ranging from 2-6 kids throughout the year. I enjoy giving one-on-one attention to the child or children and incorporating different learning activities that the child enjoys. I enjoy activities doing acts and crafts with children and incorporating different activities to limit screen time. I have also worked in different settings with children. For example, I have worked at a trampoline park, with school photography, and teaching swim lessons. In my free time I enjoy being active, baking, spending time with family, giving attention to my dog, and continuing to learn new hobbies. I also really enjoy music and sports. I have also had first aid and CPR training.

A little bit about me

I’m a loving and responsible parent of two, with a natural passion for caring for children. My experience raising my own little ones has taught me patience, empathy, and the importance of creating a safe, nurturing environment. I’m now looking to share that same care and support with other families as a nanny, offering not just supervision, but genuine love and attention

How to Find a Babysitter in Lynden, WA

Nanny Lane is a child care website meant to help you find a babysitter in your area. Our child care services include background checks, PLUS, and payroll.

Understand Babysitter Responsibilities in Lynden, WA

Before beginning the search for a babysitter, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a babysitter is the right choice for your child care needs. There are lots of benefits to hiring a babysitter such as getting the flexibility of having some more time for yourself or with your partner. When hiring a babysitter, first, you should explore the differences between a nanny and a babysitter. If you’re looking for occasional child care, babysitters are the right choice for you, but if you’re looking for more frequent care, a nanny may be better for your needs.

From there, you can think about what you expect your babysitter to handle so that you can create a profile for nannies to reach out to you. The boundaries for babysitters’ duties can vary from family to family. However, in general, a babysitter is responsible for making sure your kids’ needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example to housekeeping, laundry, or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your babysitter before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location in Lynden can impact how much you pay your babysitter.

Lynden Babysitter Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective babysitters, the next step is to conduct an interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some babysitter interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a babysitter?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open and comfortable doing?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Washington?
  • Do you have a Washington driver’s license? Do you own a car?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a babysitter that you’re considering hiring, make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your babysitter. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around babysitter responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming!

And of course, as you learn how to hire a babysitter, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
