A little bit about us
We have two sons who are one and three. Our three-year-old is in preschool for half-days on Tuesdays and Thursdays and this will expand to Monday/Wednesday/Friday in the fall. Both of our boys take daily naps, so there is natural downtime built in each day and we like to ensure they get great outside time every day (walking down to the beach, to the eucalyptus grove, to the playground, library, watering our garden, etc.). We are also well-stocked on art projects at home for those occasional rainy days.
The ideal candidate is energetic and loves the outdoors, is honest and transparent, receptive to instruction and feedback, and works well with a team (we also have a weekly house cleaner, engaged and supportive grandparents, and mom and dad are very hands on). We are looking for someone who is naturally playful and engaging, loves to have fun, proactively rotates creative/educational activities through the days and weeks to keep them stimulated, creative with new ideas for engaging the boys in play and fun, and is capable of being firm with boundaries while also being patient and loving. CPR/first aid certification, good driving record, and Covid vaccine required for consideration.
Duties will include all things childcare including meals, engaging in play, driving to/from activities, school pick up, after-school activities, and light housekeeping relating to the children’s activities (laundry, dishes, and tidying up from activities and play).
Our schedule is Monday – Thursday from 8 am to 4:30 pm and Fridays from 8 am to 3 pm. The rate is $25 per hour and we offer four weeks of paid vacation per year (two in the summer and two over the holidays).
