A little bit about us

Hello! We're ER physicians at Huntsville Hospital, and we have one daughter who is due June 28, 2021. We are so excited for her to join our family. We're looking for a nanny to help us with Wilder, mostly when our schedules in the ER overlap, and a few other times each week as well. Our hours will vary as we both do shift work, so we're looking for someone with flexibility in their schedule to work with our family once I go back to work in September 2021. She's a newborn, so routine care is all that we'd expect, with no regular expectations for taking her anywhere (except in emergencies). We do have three dogs (all older, well-behaved, and under 50 lbs), so dog lover is a plus! But we would not have any expectations that you care for the dogs, just not mind them hanging out with you and Wilder. Anything else we can discuss further, looking forward to meeting and working with you!

A little bit about us

Hello! I am looking for a mother's helper typically 3 times a week. Maybe more or less depending on the week. The hours might vary, but likely would be from 4-7 p.m. on weekdays or 8-11 a.m. on weekends. We need someone who can help with laundry, dishes, light meal prep, homework, bath time, practice drop off, work with our toddler, etc. Responsibilities would change depending on the day.

We have a newborn girl, a 3-year-old girl, and a 11-year-old boy (50% of the time). Looking for someone who has a positive attitude, enjoys being around very energetic/social children, is confident caring for infants, and who is dependable. Ideally, we would like this person to be comfortable enough in our home and around our kids for date nights too. Thank you!

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Huntsville, AL

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Huntsville, AL

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Huntsville, AL? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
