The Alcorn Family
Bentonville$14/hr  |  2 kids
We are looking for a long term full time arrangement - 40 hours a week M-F caring for our 2 kids in our Bentonville home.

Our daughter is in preschool. We want to ensure she has a structured day and is engaged in learning for some portion it (letters, numbers, shapes- we have lots of materials) and does activities like art or spends time outside, ensuring she has the stimulation and activity she would get in a daycare environment.. she is super creative and imaginative and high energy - she loves make believe play and telling stories and exploring. She’s also a type A and can be challenging at times because of her big opinions and ideas. my son is 8 months old. He naps several times a day and is generally pretty happy. He’s crawling and all over the place so the main thing is ensuring he is safe and being exposed to new things. He loves music, being outside, tactile play and we’re working on baby sign language. He’s eating solids and loves watching and interacting with his big sister.

I work from home currently so will be here during the days as well but we do have a dedicated space in our bonus room for lessons and learning materials for the kids, and our community has parks and walking paths for outdoor play.

We’re looking to have someone in our home because we’re looking to limit exposure to Covid, so we are looking for someone who does take the virus seriously and practices distancing and wears a mask. It’s important to us that health and safety is a priority.

We will require references and a background check. CPR/first aid certification is preferred as well as experience caring for an infant and preschooler.

The Becker Family
North Little Rock$10/hr  |  2 kids
My kids are aged 4 years and 8 months. My 4 year old loves playing tag and playing Spyro, while my 8 month old is learning how much fun eating is.
My fiance is in the Air Force, so we need someone with some flexibility schedule wise.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Arkansas? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a Arkansas nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
