A little bit about us

My partner and I are looking for a full time nanny starting in October to take care of your two young kids. In October our daughter will be 23 months old and our son will be 7 months old. Our daughter is very curious, loves to read and play pretend with her toys, and she also LOVES playing outside in the backyard. Our son is sweet, patient, and very easy going so far, which is great because his sister likes to run the show!

We are looking for someone 8am-4pm (ish) Monday through Friday. We both primarily work from home, so we have some flexibility on timing.

My husband and I are expecting our first child (Sofia) in January! We're thrilled but already worried about childcare when I have to go back to the office in April 2022. Would love to find a nanny share that provides both stability and flexibility to give me us some peace of mind during the work week.

We live in Eckington in NE DC. Would be happy to host the nanny share at our place if needed.

We are early 30s with our first child who was born in May 2021. Our little boy will need care starting in February 2022. He’ll be 8 months old. We’d like to find someone who can host a nanny, as we both work from home and don’t have room to have a nanny share at our place while we’re home working. Looking for 3 days a week, full days. Tuesday- Thursday.

A little bit about us

Hello— we have a 10 month old baby who is very playful. He has had mom and dad’s undivided attention for most of his life, but mom has a new job now and needs help. We are looking for a nanny (more so a nanny share) from M-F. The nanny would begin each day at 8 am and stay at least until 3/4 pm (some days 5 pm, but we’re flexible on that). The nanny or nanny share can be hosted in our home while mom and dad telework. Nanny will be responsible for nap time, play time, reading, feeding and stroller rides with the baby.

Looking forward to meeting another family looking for a nanny share or a nanny. Thank you!

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Washington, DC

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Washington, DC

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Washington, DC? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
