A little bit about us

Looking for care Tues-Fri for our 6 month old. We have a Saint Bernard but are happy to keep her behind doggie gate/bedroom. She loves people, stuffed animals, is quiet and naps all day. Our apartment is on the bus line, has two pools, splash pad and gym you are welcome to use. Happy to put you in you in touch with current nanny who is sadly moving back to the mainland so she can also provide you a feel of the job. Household chores are not expected - we just want the best care for our baby while we are away. Applicant must be reliable and timely and provide references.

A little bit about us

Aloha,

We are a family from Niu Valley who live right on the ocean on the main island of Oahu. It is a spectacular place and we are happy to share it with the right babysitter. Our daughter Kairi turns 2 in August and will be starting preschool and we just had twin boys who are now 8 months old. We are looking for a friendly, responsible, and fun babysitter to help watch the boys. Usually one of us is around to help and we are primarily looking for someone 3 to 4 days a week from 8am-1pm. Feel free to reach out with any questions. Thanks!

A little bit about us

We are looking for someone to become a part of our dynamic and very busy family. We have a one month-old baby, as well as two teenagers, one of whom has down syndrome, but is very high functioning.

Both my husband and I are consultants and we work from home. Our plan is to find somebody to be with our child for at least the first two years of his life so we really want to find the right fit. Our schedules are variable, but the tasks will include : lite cooking, driving, dog walking, errand running, cleaning, laundry, all things newborn baby related, and some overnights with the teenagers. We travel quite a bit, so we might also ask you to housesit. We have three dogs.

The position will start on a trial basis and ramp up considerably once we are assured that we have found the right person.

$20-$28/hr, 2 weeks paid vacation, healthcare reimbursed after 20 hrs per week

Must have car and prior nanny experience with references.

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Honolulu, HI

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Honolulu, HI

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Honolulu, HI? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
