A little bit about us

We are looking for a nanny for our sweet boy Peter beginning in late July 2022. I’m a high school teacher and my husband works for the DOD, so our expected hours are 7am to 3pm every week day (with the exception of state and federal holidays). We do also have a super sweet older dog, but she shouldn’t require any additional care during the day.

A little bit about us

We are looking for a part time nanny to start around late September- October, but for the right nanny, we can be flexible on start date, either earlier or later than that.

We have a 2.5 year old who will start preschool in August. We’re expecting a baby girl in early September. I will be off for the first 3 months and we’d like a nanny to be comfortable with our children and household rhythms by the time I go back to work in December.

We’d want someone who wants to work about 20-30 hours / week. Roughly 2-3x/ week, 10 hour days with options for some half days too. We need someone comfortable to watch a newborn during the day and help with preschool drop offs/ pick ups for our older child and engaging him after school.

We’d like someone comfortable with driving and light household chores such as tidying, dishes, laundry, and meal prep/ cooking.

We have a studio with a separate entrance, and live in is an option if that is desirable.

We are only interested in experienced nannies with references. Thank you!

A little bit about us

Hello! We currently have a nearly two year old who is usually in daycare. However, he has a lot of breaks and is often out sick. We are hoping we could find someone who can watch him over the break periods, and perhaps at the end of a cold when he’s not really symptomatic but might not be cleared for his stringent daycare clearance.

We would want to maintain the relationship between breaks and would ask for babysitting every weekend or every other weekend.

We are also hoping for a second eventually and will need more help then.

We live right in downtown Honolulu and have two cats. The cats are very sweet. One will avoid you and one will try to go home with you. They do not require care.

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Honolulu, HI

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Honolulu, HI

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Honolulu, HI? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
