A little bit about us

We are a loving family of four! We have a preschooler and a baby who are best friends with one another and bring light to our lives. We're a pan-African household (mom is from Nigeria and dad is from Kenya and met in college in the US), so culture, language, and equity are really important to us. We're excited to find the right nanny to support our efforts in raising kind, compassionate, and intelligent global citizens!
We are in need of assistance for approximately 15-25 hours per week during the daytime for our 6-month-old (who will be 9 months in January). Tasks will include feeding (bottle and solids), diaper changes, intentional play, and some light housekeeping (dishes, tidy up play area, etc) while she naps.
We're interested in a set schedule for 4-5 hours Monday to Thursday or Monday-Friday, 11-3ish. We often work from home, so one parent will almost always be in the home. COVID-19 vaccination and CPR certification required.

A little bit about us

We are an education focused family with four amazing kids. Our children are 9,6,4, and 5 months. Our kiddos loves sports. We are looking for a full time nanny to join us, after our nanny of two years moved out of state.

We do not expect any additional cleaning or cooking (other than what the kids eat, and the messes they make while having fun with you), we want you to focus on their development.

Some travel may be possible, as we like to take vacations.

Typical day is 7-4, with a lot of flexibility built in. There may be occasional pick up and drop off, if the school system bus system fails.

We look forward to talking!

How to Find an Infant Care Job in South Bend, IN

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in South Bend, IN

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in South Bend, IN? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
