A little bit about us

We have a 4 month old baby boy (DOB :[phone number hidden]) who will need part-time care during the week, likely Tuesday-Thursday between 9-4pm. We will be moving to the area around October and will need care starting then. We would prefer for the child to stay at home and be taken care of at our own apartment. Baby’s father will be working from home as well during the time’s that the baby needs care. We also have two dogs who are non-aggressive and will not need care from the nanny but nanny must be comfortable with the pets.

A little bit about us

I have boy/girl almost 10 months old twins. They are full of personality and two little handfuls! Someone with experience is a must. Being able to watch both of them as they are learning to stand, walk, and getting into everything takes experience and patience! I need a mother's helper so I can work from home and have some help around the house. Duties include caring for the babies, light laundry, dishes, and coming on outings if I have free time. This is a part time position. I also have a 16 year old dachshund and a 5 year old cat. Both will not bother you but no allergies please! I am flexible on whether this is 3 days a week for more hours or 5 for less, however we agree on breaking it up.

What is an Infant Nanny in Raritan, NJ

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Raritan, NJ? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
