A little bit about us

We are a warm, welcoming family with a wonderful 2-month-old baby boy, and a friendly dog (corgi). We split our time between our homes in East Hampton, NY, and Weehawken, NJ, and are looking for a loving, experienced, and reliable live-in full-time nanny to become a long-term part of our household.

Location & Schedule - From early November through the end of the year, we will primarily be based in East Hampton, during my maternity leave.

Starting in late January, when I return to work, we will primarily be based in Weehawken during the workweek, with regular trips to our East Hampton home. The anticipated schedule is Monday–Thursday, with occasional flexibility as needed.

Responsibilities
The role will focus entirely on caring for our son, including feeding, diaper changes, naps, tummy time, age-appropriate play, walks and outings, and supporting his development as he grows. We would also appreciate help with baby-related tasks such as washing and preparing bottles, baby laundry, keeping the nursery and play areas tidy, and preparing his meals once he begins solids.

What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone with strong infant experience who genuinely enjoys working with babies and is nurturing, patient, responsible, organized, and safety-conscious. We value clear communication, reliability, flexibility, and someone who is comfortable following our preferred routines while also taking initiative.

We would love to find someone who can grow with our family over the coming years. Experience with infant CPR and traveling with families would be a plus.

Living Arrangements
This is a live-in position, with a private bedroom and bathroom provided in both homes. We respect our nanny's personal time and privacy outside of agreed working hours.

We look forward to welcoming someone who will provide a safe, loving, and engaging environment for our son!

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Weehawken Township, NJ

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Weehawken Township, NJ

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Weehawken Township, NJ? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
