A little bit about us

My wife is a nurse works 3 12's a week and every third weekend. I work a normal 8-5 job with some flexibility. We would be looking for someone to watch our little guy on the days that my wife works. Her schedule is different every week but we know about a month in advance what it will look like. We are needing someone for roughly 24-30 hours a week. Our boy is due to arrive February 5th and mom will take leave through we are thinking April.

A little bit about us

I'm looking for a nanny to come sit and play with my daughter while I work from home. She is a super sweet, super playful 3 month old with a personality as big as her smile. No housework necessary, just need someone who loves kids to spend their time playing with my sweet baby.

We have two dogs and a cat in the house so loving pets is a bonus! In addition to the pets we are remodeling so it's a plus if you don't mind a little construction chaos in the background. You're welcome to use our wifi and do schoolwork or whatever else you'd like when she is napping, so long as she's a happy camper. She is breastfed so you can just bring her in to me when she gets hungry, though the occasional bottle might be necessary if I have to run to the office. We live in an area with lots of area to walk and parks nearby if you're into that type of thing.

I work 7-5:30pm Tuesday-Friday but the hours are flexible as my husband is a student and he can watch her when he's home. If it works best we can figure out a set schedule for watching her so you can count on a certain number of hours! We have a spare bedroom so for the right person we may be able to work out a live-in situation if you're looking to be in a rural but still close to the cities area. Thank you for reading and we look forward to hearing from you!

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Andover, MN

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Andover, MN

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Andover, MN? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
