A little bit about me…

I am seeking a full time, long term position. Ideally the position would be or would turn into more of a governess role since I am obtaining my degree in Elementary Education. Currently I am the lead Pre-Kindergarten teacher in a private school. My class consists of 15 children, ages 4 and 5. I am responsible for all lesson plans, conferences, discipline, guidance in learning difficulties, and working with parents on educational goals. Each child in my class is beginning to read words and write, can do addition and subtration, fractions, count money, tell time, and has become an independent, loving, accepting person. In the afternoon I oversee a daycare for 20-25 children, ages 2 1/2 - 10. I previously worked with 3 children ages 5, 10 and 12 as a full time nanny, and for a single dad with 2 children, 8 and 10 as a full time household manager/nanny. I have worked with all ages of children as well as twins and newborns. I have experience with Asperger's', ADD, ADHD, seizures, dyslexia, and learning difficulties. I worked at an orphanage in India while living with a native Indian family. I am available for some travel. My past employers say I am very detail oriented and able to multi-task. I have excellent references, letters of reference, a detailed resume, and a portfolio with past and current childcare experience. I am in school to be a teacher, however, I attend online all of my classes and so it does not in any way interfere with my flexibility as a nanny. As a professional nanny, I devote my time and energy with each family to their children's well being above anything else. I am a naturally clean, tidy and organized person, and am more than happy to help with any child-related duties - from the child's laundry to organizing their clothing. I believe any type of heavy housecleaning is best done by someone who can focus on that only, and so I do not accept positions where heavy housekeeping is involved in the nanny position. If you have an infant, I have extensive experience with newborns, even taking care of 2 sets of newborn twins, and am able to set sleep schedules with your child and set regular feedings as well. I also am familiar with many types of childcare, such as Dr. Sears methods or the Ericsson's theory, so we can plan a daily routine for your baby around your preferences. I can also work with any other caregivers to make sure our days work together smoothly.
