A little bit about me…

I have two cats myself, therefore I am very animal friendly so if you have a critter or two totally okay with me! i'm trained and certified in CPR for infants, teens, and adults as well i’m trained and certified in first aid. I have a little brother with Down syndrome and I often help out with his class so i'm hands on and educated about special needs kids.. ohh and I know a little sign language not a ton but enough to understand the important stuff! I'm 100% ok with helping with house chores and any cleaning that might help destress just a little lol. I can cook as well as the average person im not Gordon Ramsey but I can make a mean Mac and cheese! oh and I love to bake so if surprise brownies or cookies are you thing consider it done! :)

Hi there my names Lexi! I love working with kids and since COVID I have had free time on my hands to start nannying again and I would love to be apart of your child/children’s daily routine to help make things easier on you and keep the kiddos happy as well. I am working on my teaching degree at American River so that’s a hint that working with kids is fun for me. I am very flexible with parents and want to help as much as I can in these stressful times.

A little bit about us…

Looking for a live-in nanny with good references and a clean driving record. I work as a firefighter so I am gone overnight so would need to feel comfortable taking care of a baby alone. On weekdays he is in daycare fulltime so you would only need to drop off and pick up and then feed him dinner and put him to bed. average of 4 hours of week on weekdays and then 13 on weekends as he wakes at 7 and goes to bed at 730. I work an average of 2 days a week so on those days you will take care of him. when I am off you will have your own free time and your own car that I provide. This is great for a student or someone who needs weekdays off with minimal working hours. Please note this position is for live in. Not overnights but live in. Thank you

A little bit about us…

We are seeking a new nanny for our 15 month old son. The nanny that we currently employ is departing amicably to start a new job as caregiver for her grandparents. We cherished and trusted our nanny and are seeking a replacement who we feel we can trust and has a good head on their shoulders as well. Some of the things that are most important to us in a nanny for our son: reliable, openly communicative, values and prioritizes outdoor time regardless of the weather, and is more akin to nurture/responsiveness. The schedule is somewhat still up in the air as I just took a new job where I will be able to work from home 2 days per week starting mid January. 2 days per week, my mother in law watches our son, and one day per week , my aunt watches our son. However, there are weeks when my MIL and Aunt cannot watch our son due to various reasons. If possible, we are looking for a nanny who is a bit more flexible with the days and hours worked. There will almost never be a need for more than 2 days per week, 18 hours max per week. Most weeks, however, we would be seeking a nanny one day per week, likely a Monday or Thursday. We are more interested in finding the right nanny for our child, and working with the days that they are available.
Our son is fully mobile and very active, fun, and a bit destructive at times when indoors. He generally needs to have a bottle and be rocked to sleep in the rocking chair for naps (usually is taking just one long nap). We also have a dog at home that we keep outside while the nanny would be home, but we would like the nanny to be comfortable with dogs and possibly needing to put the dog inside as needed while our son is outside.

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Citrus Heights, CA

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Citrus Heights Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Citrus Heights? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Citrus Heights?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in CA? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.

Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny

Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
