Hello! My name is Madison. I am currently a sophomore in college. I have been babysitting for a little over 5 years now and I absolutely love it. I am currently watching 3 boys at the moment. I am going to be getting let go by the family due to financial problems. I am looking around for a new family that I can start watching. Here is a brief explanation of how I started babysitting. I started out by watching my younger cousins then slowly moved into watching other children outside my family. Over the last few years I have worked with kids ranging all the way from infants to 9 year olds. I also have excellent experience with autism and other disorders. I enjoy doing crafts and going outside and getting some fresh air while doing outside activities.

Hello! My name is Isa Gallegos and I am looking for a summer job while I am home from college. I just finished my freshman year at Cal Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo studying Child Development. I have grown up babysitting my younger cousins and have always been close to my family. I am also a dancer and have experience attending and teaching dance classes at The Music Room School of Performing Arts in Orange, CA. Also for the past five years I have been a counselor for Vacation Bible School at St. John’s Lutheran School, leading children ages 3-8 years old. I am partially experienced taking care of children with special needs. My younger cousin is on the spectrum and I have watched him numerous times and have observed his home therapy sessions. My goal after school is to pursue Occupational Therapy and continue to work with kids. I will be returning to school at the start of September, therefore I am only available until then; but I am more than happy to work seasonally.

I teach them to do right things and always explained to them what is right and wrong. I teach them how to do a personal hygiene step by step in bathing, brushing their teeth, combing their hair, putting clothes on. Interacting with children is good teaching them and you can also learning from them.

I am 47 years old and a resident of City of Orange. I am happily married to my husband of 19 years. I am also a stay-at-home mother of two children, boys ages 12 and 10. I worked for 10 years at a local fire department as a data entry technician before I became a stay-at-home mom when my first child was born. I have three units in Early Childhood Education, and I would like to continue my education in that field. My personal goal is to at least get 12 units. I have many years of experience working with children of all ages, not only raising my own children, but taking care of other mother's children and babysitting and being a part-time nanny. While my children were infants/toddlers themselves, I worked at local church for a group,I took care of the infants and toddlers for three years. There, I changed diapers, fed bottles, mixed formula, fed baby food, and rocked children to sleep. When my children entered preschool, I was able to get a teacher's assistant position at their preschool in Orange. I worked there for 6 months, as a teacher's assistant. I worked with the older 3 and young 4-year-old group of children. My duties as a teacher's assistant was to change diapers on the children who were not potty trained, monitor bathrooms, get the snacks prepared for snack time, help with painting, and read books to the children in circle time. I was there to help out the teacher in whatever was necessary to make things run smoother in the classroom. Once my children went to grade school, I was able to get a noon duty supervisor position at their school. I watched the children at lunch and recess to make sure they have a safe environment to play and eat in. I have worked there for 4 years. I enjoy working with children of all ages. I am currently working as a babysitter on Saturday evenings for a previous family who hired me in June of 2011. I just recently became their nanny/caregiver in August I work Tuesday and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. , but no later than 2:00 p.m. the little boy just turned 2 years old. I change diapers, feed him his food and snack, take him to the park, and walk him around the neighborhood. I also do light housekeeping, like washing dishes, putting dishes in/out of the dishwasher, and sweep the floors, pick-up after myself and the child's toys.

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Orange, CA

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Orange Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Orange? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Orange?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in CA? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
