The Prokurat Family - Hiring in Redwood City
The Prokurat Family
Mount Carmel, Redwood City$30/hr  |  1 kid
--- Nanny ---

We are very flexible. We will consider:
- Long & short term
- Full time & part time
- With lots of exp & with little to no exp
- With & without brind-to-work-children
- With higher or lower rate than specified
- With early & late start date

--- Baby ---

N will be 1 year in July. She is calm and independent. She loves attention a lot, but she also can play independently for a long time. She easily goes for contact with anyone who smiles to her.

N is mostly feeded by BLW approach - self-feed with finger food. Though we are not super strict about it. BLW might be messy.

--- Pets ---

We have 2 indoor Bengal cats. They are very friendly, never scratched a person. No pet care is required.

--- House ---

We live in single family house. Baby's play area is in large living room connected to the kitchen. There are baby gates around and everything she can access is secured and safe.

We have cameras installed inside and outside of the house.

We have a fenced backyard to play and there is a public playground in less than 5 minutes walk.

--- Family ---

We expect to work-from-home 3-5 days per week in a separate room. Baby do not have separation anxiety at this moment. If this becomes the problem then we could leave for office full time.

Our schedule is flexible. We can start working day as early as 9 and as late as 12 p.m. We can tolerate frequent day off.

--- Cooking ---

For a long term & full time, we are looking for someone who can cook for baby and parents. Ordering food delivery occasionally is fine. Baby eat whatever parents eat.

For a short term or part time, it is not required.

--- Nanny share ---

For a long term & full time, we prefer someone who can take second child.

--- Transportation ---

The nearest bus stop & caltrain is 10-15 minutes walk. If you driving, there are enough parking spots near the house.

No driving licence or car required.

--- Other Family ---

We'd prefer to host 5/5 days at our house. But we can do turns.

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Redwood City, CA

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

  • Do you have a driver’s license in CA? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family.
