I have been babysitting for over 10 years. I have worked with three families that I am extremely close to and have watched their kids grow up. I have also been a nanny for a family with five girls, from an infant to the 11 year old. I would help the girls get ready in morning, eat breakfast, and fix lunches. Then I would watch the infant and 3 year old during the day (doing light household chores while they were napping or enraptured with The Wiggles). During the afternoon I would make preparations for dinner and get ready for the other girls to come home. Once school was out, the girls would finish their homework and I would help if needed. For six months (January 2011-August 2011) I went to India to work in children's home with 48 kids, who ranged in age from 3 to 20. Many of those children had special needs, emotionally, physically, and/or academically. I was a substitute houseparent for when staff went on vacation or had time off. This entailed getting the kids ready for school in the morning, eating breakfast, doing chores, and sending them on the bus. During the day, I would work with the youngest kids (3 and 4 years old) on reading and phonics. When the others got home, it was homework time. Then later I would help the girls get ready for bed, doing devotions with them and telling stories. Most recently, I babysat for a family with three girls. I would watch the two youngest (3 and 4 years old) during the day for 4 -5 hours. This was my part-time employment while in grad school last semester.

I am 32 years of age.I have MANY years of child care/nanny experience. I am a child care professional and I am looking for a quality job offer at this time.I LOVE caring for babies and children of all ages. My last nanny job was for three years and I provided care for 4 children.Their ages were an infant, 2-year-old, 4-year-old, and a 6-year-old. I speak fluent Spanish and sing and play the piano as well. I took CPR, First Aid, and some Early Childhood Development courses. I attended college for two and a half years. I have baby sat, worked as a teacher's aide in an elementary school, and worked in several daycare centers including a Montessori school. I have worked with children and babies of all different ages. please check out my nanny website for more info: I enjoy helping with home work, play time with toys, singing, reading books, and more. I also enjoy taking children to the park, library, and other places. I am a very animated story teller. I do different voices when I tell stories. I am very loving and nurturing with children and really want them to look forward to spending time with me. I feel I have a mother's heart within me and a great love for children. Babies and children alike are so innocent and precious and bring so much joy to my life! One of the biggest challenges in working with children is that, at times, a lot of patience is required. Children need to be taught through gentle guidance, instruction, and lots of repetition. For me, what I love most about being a nanny is the joy of having a job that will allow me to make a difference in children's lives for the better while making special memories with them that I will treasure forever. Some things that make me unique as a nanny, would be my joy for life, fun loving personality, Spanish speaking skills, my ability to play the piano and also sing with children, my ability to connect with children of all ages and teach them things on their level while provide loving and nurturing care. Children LOVE adults that really know how to play with them and take an interest in their little world and make them feel loved, special, and protected. Most of all, I feel I am someone truly trust worthy to leave your greatest treasure with, your child (children). Thanks so much for reading what I have shared from my heart. I hope to hear back from you soon!

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Gainesville, GA

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Gainesville Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Gainesville? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Gainesville?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in GA? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
