I have years of experience from newborns to 10 year olds. In my spare time I love to cook, watch movies, read, play sports,go for walks(especially since there’s a park half a block away!)and spend time with my family. Looking forward to meeting some lil ones!! ☺️☺️

I have been babysitting for 8 or more years, worked at a preschool and also a summer camp. I have been a nanny since high school. Worked with a family of 2 for a year, then a family of 3 for over a year. Then also worked with a family of 1 for several months.

I have babysat for the same family for the last 6 years and it's been an amazing experience to see them grow and become close to the family. I was also a day camp counselor for the last 2 years, so I have great experience working with a large group of kids from all sorts of backgrounds. I have also been a lifeguard for the last 4 years, so I am both CPR and first aid certified. I also just love being in the water and am very cautious when watching over kids. I am hoping to one day actually become a pediatrician and to be able to help kids for my own future profession.

Hi, my name is Montserrat, I'm 27 years old and I'm originally from Mexico. My experience began with my brother who is 6.5 years younger than me. My parents were always working, therefore I was almost like a second mother to him. Then I did the typical middle schooler summer babysitting once in a while mostly with my brother's friends. Then when I turned 18 I came to the US as an Au Pair, working for a family in Glenview, Illinois for a little bit over 1 year and then again 2 years later for the summer. They have 3 kids who were 7, 9 and 11 at the time. After that I worked as a live-in nanny for a blended family whose kids were 2.5, 4, 8, 10, 11, 13 and 18 y/o. I always worked with the 2.5, 4 and 13 y/o and on occasion with the rest. Then I worked again as a live-in nanny for a family with 4 kids. They were 5, 6, 11 & 13 y/o. They all had some sort of special need like hearing or visually impaired, bipolar or Asperger's syndrome. Now I'm a proud mom of a "baby" boy whom is 4.5 y/o. I have some experience in the Montessori learning method since my son attended a Montessori school. I love kids, I think they are just goofy and they crack me up! I love to learn things from them. It amazes me how creative, funny and imaginative they are. I really like to have fun with the kids! I love to take them to play tennis, or go to the swimming pool, or to playgrounds, arranging playdates with other friends or simply riding bikes to the park! I also like to do crafts such as making pinatas, or drawing and coloring pictures. I think discipline is very important, but I also think that it is very important to apply it on the right way. I think time outs, and loss of privileges work the best, also talking to the kids and making them understand what they did wrong and how it feels when they ignore us. I also tend to focus a lot on teaching them good manners, to be polite with others, sharing, put in others' shoes, be kind, etc. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate on getting in touch with me!

While I was growing up, I've watched my sister and my younger cousins. When I started my job at the hair salon, one of the stylist recently had twins and I started watching them for her when they were only 6 months old. They were easy to watch because I would just have to feed them and put them down for a nap. Now they are 2 years old and They are walking and talking and It amazes me that I was able to watch them grow up and learn different things and do different things. I thought I would have a problem watching them before because their is two of them and they are the same age but they just played with each other and didnt fight like I thought would happen. I pick up a 5 year old from school every tuesday and thursday and watch her for a few hours afterwards and I will start taking her to Ice skating lessons in a few weeks. I have much more expierience because I watched my younger cousins. I started watching them when I was 12 or 13 years old.

I spent several years caring for two adorable children. Throughout my time with the family, I was recommended to other family members and friends of their family. I feel lucky to have spent time with them and to have played a part in the children's lives. In addition to the years I spent with one family, I also have many years of babysitting experience under my belt. I have watched cousins, neighbors, friends of the family, etc. I currently work at an elementary school as a teacher's aide, so I am capable of incorporating educational activities into the children's lives. I am often in charge of a classroom of 20 or more children at a time when substituting. During recess time, I supervise over 120 children at a I know how to organize otherwise chaotic situations. I also spent a few years working as a musical theatre teacher for an after-school arts program (elementary school through middle school). I have found it incredibly important for children to have creative outlets. As you can see, I love working with children in any capacity.

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Franklin Park, IL

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Franklin Park Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Franklin Park? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Franklin Park?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in IL? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
