Lexi W. - Seeking Work in Granger

Hi! My name is Lexi. I am 19 years old and am attending Indiana University where I plan to major in Arts Management. Last year, I worked at Mary Frank Elementary School Monday through Friday. I worked with 60+ kids ages 4 through 12. I essentially played with kids, colored with them, prepared snacks, and organized games for them each day. Every other day, I specialized with a preschooler that had down syndrome and aided her with everyday activities. I personally love doing crafts, so I'm always totally willing to do something creative. I just recently discovered a new liking towards cooking/baking so I'm able to put that to good use! I also love being outdoors and doing activities to keep the day interesting and fun (going swimming, to the zoo, etc). Please let me know if you're interested!

Full-time hours

My name is Kaitlyn! I am a sophomore in college, 20 years old. I love kids (and animals if you have them)! I am lifeguard certified as well as CPR/first aid certified. I took a college course in life guarding my freshmen year of college. I have my own car and am a very responsible driver! I am comfortable doing laundry/keeping the house tidy and am able to prepare meals or do any thing else you may require! I can handle any age of children as I have had previous experience helping out at a daycare and babysitting throughout high school! I enjoy being active so outdoor activities are no problem for me but I also love just playing a board game or joining in on crafts. If you need any recommendations I am happy to provide them. I am able to work flexible hours and am available all summer!

I have been babysitting since I was in 5th grade and I have ever since. I have been working with children from the ages of 4 months old to 11 years old. I have worked with families with 1 child to 4 children at a time. I had a nanny job last year where I would cook and take the children to the places they needed to go.

My first child care position was in 1986 for the 3 sons of a physician, my next door neighbor. I stayed quite busy, scheduled for the weekend care of their boys, as well as the children of their close friends. I spent the summer of 1989 in Liberia, West Africa, where I interacted with the tribal children on a daily basis. I went on to a live-in position on the east coast, where I stayed for one year. After getting married, I began caring for 4-5 children at a time in my home. While raising my own family, it provided me with the opportunity to do what I do best; entertain and educate children.
As my children grew, I spent more and more time volunteering in their classrooms and cared for other's children primarily on weekends.
When my children became teenagers, graduated, and moved onto college, I became a nanny full-time, caring for children in their homes. I call myself the "Mary Poppins of Michiana", as I am a huge fan of singing, acting, dancing, reading, and having fun, fun, fun with the children while educating them as well.
I have cared for children with special needs. I have also volunteered with the local children's community theatre, caring for/entertaining large groups of children backstage.
One of my ideas, for entertaining children during long car drives (no electronics, when there is the opportunity to talk with one another and be creative!), was published in Family Fun Magazine in 2010. My "15 minutes of fame"!
I truly enjoy what I do. My enthusiasm and energetic, loving personality is contagious. I am still in contact with many of the children that were once in my care. Many are in college and some are even married! We stayed in touch throughout the years. I consider them part of my family.
I also enjoy collecting books, reading them, and working in my flower garden.
I am currently looking for a full-time, live-out position.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile!
