I have many different babysitting experiences as well as Nanny experience. I have been babysitting for the past six years. I have experience babysitting children newborn to 13 years old. I have babysat children who have special needs these include; downs syndrome and autism. Until two years ago my babysitting experience was limited to the occasional day. The time I was on the job ranged from about 2 hours to 12. The number of children I was responsible for ranging from 1-5. During the summer of 2011 I was a nanny for a four-year-old boy here in Bloomington, Indiana. I watched him three days a week for ten hours a week. My primary job with the four year old was to take care of him including: meals, showers, and playing with him. From August 2011 to December 2011 I was a nanny for an eight-year-old boy here in Bloomington. This job was a bit more complex. I was there with him before he left for school from 6:45 to 8:20. Here I was in charge of waking him up, making him breakfast, packing his lunch, practicing his spelling words, going over math facts and helping him complete his weekly math sheet. After I took him to school I returned to the family’s home and folded their laundry, vacuumed, dusted the furniture, loaded the dishwasher, and did light cleaning in he bathroom. I also walked their four- year- old golden retriever. Due to my school schedule for the spring semester I will no longer be able to work for this family. I hold certifications that I believe make me a very qualified nanny. I am a Red Cross Certified Lifeguard trained and certified in first-aid, CPR, and water assistance. I also am a Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructor. This past summer I was certified as an instructor for Safe Sitter, a babysitting training program for youth.

I have experience babysitting for a pair of twin gymnasts whom I took back and forth to gymnastics and participated as needed during gymnastic functions in place of their mother. I also took them to the park quite frequently to play and hike the trails. I have cared for a young girl with cleft palate/lip and her older brother, took them back and forth to school, and cared for their Great Pyrenees puppy. Another family I babysat for had three girls and a little boy, these were typically over-nighters where I would cook dinner for them then watch tv with them until bed-time. Any other babysitting/care jobs were inconsistent and occasional! But I do have quite a bit of experience.

Child care began for me when I was just sixteen years old. I babysat for multiple families during the evenings and weekends. That summer I began a full time babysitting job with five children ages 2, 3, 5, 8, and 9. Some people would call me crazy for taking on the task of caring for 5 children but I absolutely loved it. I continued to babysit part time until I graduated high school. After graduating I took on a full time nanny position where the 1.5 year old girl stayed with me 4 days a week. She had her own room at my house and we did just about everything together. Her parents were granted custody of her therefor my services were not needed anymore. I have babysat for multiple families with children of all different ages. I have also babysat for children with special needs and feel very comfortable with this.

First of all, I have five younger siblings, so I grew up taking care of children of all ages. I have extensive babysitting experience but have also been a nanny for three different families. Each family has two children, ages 1-5. I'm working evenings and weekends for one of the families currently, but would like to work mornings and afternoons for a new family as well.
