I have babysat and nannied my whole life and want to continue that throughout college due to aspiring to become a special education teacher. I love children and I even volunteer every summer at multiple camps including a special needs camp! I love having fun and putting safety first when with kids. :) I am a sophomore at Appalachian State and will be home for winter break from December 9, 2019 to January 9, 2020. I have my own transportation, 2016 Honda HRV and have a clean driving record. I am comfortable with pets, my family has two dogs. Hello! Welcome to my little bio
Here is a little about my experience with kids: Nannyed for 2 great families over the past 7 years. When I started with one family the daughters were 2 and 6, now 9 and 13. Then the previous family, their boys were 4-5 months and 3 years. Sadly, I am no longer with them because they grew older or their schedules changed. Now that I have found a little side job selling phones, it s not for me. I know in my heart that I am meant to help out with kids.
I love to come up with little songs, playing make believe, going outside, building forts, and I guess you can say I'm a child at heart. So who knows where the good Lord will lead me.
I started being around little babies when I was around 10.
I don't have any education in childcare just yet, thinking about going back to college.
Personality wise; I try to be positive, bubbly, warm, encouraging, energetic, sense of humor, loving, caring, loyal, creative, healthy, and just being me.

Hi. I’m Stacey! I’m 36 years old and a part time preschool teacher at little church on the lane. There I work with 1 1/2 to early 2 year olds. I also nanny as needed for some of my students. I’m a huge fan of arts and crafts and blending learning into that. I am CPR certified. I am able to assist with potty training, light housework, meal prep, cooking and errands if needed. I have a medical background as well. So I have a good knowledge of a variety of health conditions and food allergies. I absolutely love the age group I teach. Getting to teach them new things and watch them learn and grow is the best thing to me! I have references available as well.

I've worked at two different childcare centers in the past 8 years and always in the infant classroom. I have done some babysitting for older children too and learned a lot about different ages through college classes and personal experience.

Daeja W.

Daeja was an excellent sitter for my children during the summer! They fell in love with her immediately and still keep in contact with her. She is not only responsible and reliable but NOT afraid to interact with the children, play dress up, board games, and even help with chores! I couldn’t have asked for better in a sitter for my children. - Jessica

Daeja W.

Daeja was a very hard worker. She had excellent communication & she was always ready to work!! I worked with her at summer camp for 2 years & never had one issue! She was on point & very reliable. - Asia Smith

Saril S.

It was great having Saril over for watching my daughter Rylan. She played nicely with my 3 year old, both in helping direct new activities and also in following her lead. She helped both when I was there and not there. - Dena Rutter

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Matthews, NC

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Matthews Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Matthews? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Matthews?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in NC? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
