I am looking for a fulfilling experience; from me to the children and family and vice versa. I love children and I am extremely patient. I am hoping to make a positive impact in a child's life. I am experienced professionaly in two daycare environments as well as being a team leader for music workshops for young kids to teens and doing children face painting. I have also many times been trusted in my personal life with family and friends to look after their young ones. I have also done home dialysis treatment for my guardian starting at the age of 12 until 14. Growing up, it was only my Guardian and I in the household and I devoted a lot of my childhood to taking care of her needs as she had kidney disease. I am a natural care giver. I am an aunt of three young boys who are now 11 and 15 years old that I love dearly and helped raise the 11 year old, but baby sat all three of them. I have a younger sister, 11 and younger brother, 16 that I care for dearly. I have watched after both of them, but at this point I only baby sit my little sister and her friends sometimes. I have even been a role model for many girls in the foster care system that I met during high school ranging from 12 to about 15 years of age. I am warm, fun, yet responsible.

Being that I have younger siblings (ages 7 & 9) as well as a host of cousins, I have been very experienced with caring for children from at a young age. However, as an experienced nanny, for the past 2 years and 9 months, I have cared mainly for children ages 3 months to 5 years. My 1st employer I have worked for for a little over 2 years. My responsibilities included caring for 2 precious children, ages 3 & 1. I had both kids all day, anywhere from 7 to 10 hours a day. Main focuses were entertaining and stimulating the children as much as they could handle. We daily had reading time, music and sing alongs, educational activities (toys,tv,coloring, painting) making their meals, putting then down for naps, cleaning after them, bathing them, & if mom was working O/T, putting them to bed. I made sure I had a set routine for both kids, did a daily log for each, and monitored their milestones and growth weekly. Once the 3 year old was 4, she was in daycare, but the mom would take her on her way to work after I've gotten her dressed. For my second family, I've only worked for them for about 4 months, but just recently departed, as to only a live-in could accommodate to their needs. In this home I've cared for an adorable 3 month old and 2 year old. Duties required getting both kids ready in the morning, walking the 2 year old to school (30 minute walk all together) then caring for the 3 month old during the day (feeding him, stimulating him, monitoring motor development, bathing, playing with him and giving him hugs, putting down for naps) and other duties like mopping, cleaning the kitchen and bathroom, taking out the garbage, cooking for the family, and picking up the daughter, then bathing her. Overtime nights also included dinner & putting one child to sleep and the father takes the other. My days would be anywhere from 12-14 hour days.

I used to babysit (the position just ended on Friday) two little girls who are 3 and 4, for an amazing couple in Bernardsville, NJ. Unfortunately, for me, but fortunately for them, they are moving to North Jersey at the end of August. I really enjoyed working for them and even more so with the little ones, Emma and Shannon. The parents were kind and great at communicating their needs as well as the girls' needs and the girls were tons of fun and loved being read to and playing games. I'm hoping to find the same in my new employment. I also worked at a Day Care in Roselle, New Jersey for four years. The children were between the ages of 1 and half to 5 years.

For me my past childcare experience has been so many thing it's been wonderful joyful happy sad at times when a child or children may not be feeling well and they can't tell you what is wrong with them. it has also been rewarding as well just knowing that i can make a difference and put a smile on a child face or hear the words i love you tee tee and the family tell you that they are so happy they made you apart of their family for me it makes me want to get up the next day after day and do all over again i can honestly say i do love & respect what i do

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Roselle, NJ

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Roselle Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Roselle? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Roselle?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in NJ? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
