A little bit about me
I have 5+ years of experience in childcare.
Every one of my long term jobs have been with children ranging from infants to early teens. Starting with my position as a Child-life CD1 at UNM children’s hospital. I guided children through medical procedures they’d experience and explain it in age- appropriate ways while distracted them with interactive play.
Shortly after I worked for personal families around Albuquerque and had nannied 4 month old till she was 1 year.
I am a mama of a 10 month old and I currently work in the infant room at New Soul Learning Center. We have babies from 6 weeks old to 1 year. Typically around 5-8 babies at a time. I manage feedings, diapers, nap schedules, etc.
Prior to the infant room I worked in the 3 year old room. Assisted with potty training, a lot of outdoor play, fine motor skills, etc.
I am also first aid and CPR certified!
I’m excited to hopefully work with your little ones’ 💗

A little bit about me
My name is Alisha, I have 2 kiddos of my own, (2yr, 10m) and I have been working with children my entire life. From my mother’s preschool to volunteering as a youth leader at my church to now having my own, there’s not much time in my life that hasn’t been spent with kids. Although I haven’t been paid to care for them, my heart and soul have always been put into taking care of the little ones. My previous paid jobs include working at Genesis healthcare in Belen NM. I also received my CMA license prior to working at New Mexico Orthopedics for almost 2 years. Due to having my children, my husband and I could not afford daycare so I have been a stay at home mom for over 2 years now. With your generosity and understanding, I would love to be able to bring my children to work with me. Please let me know if you have any questions.

I worked as a camp counselor for both 6-8 year olds and 10-12 year olds at Albuquerque Academy Think Summer program, and have taken care of my younger cousins numerous times. I can take your child to/pick your child up from school, feed them basic meals, take them to sports practice, and help them with homework. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Albuquerque, NM
Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.
Albuquerque Nanny Interviews
Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:
- Do you have experience being a nanny?
- How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
- What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
- Are you open to a live in arrangement in Albuquerque? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
- Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
- Do you have any references?
- Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Albuquerque?
- Do you have a driver’s license in NM? Do you own a car?
- What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
- What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?
During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny
Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
