A little bit about me

Hello everyone!

It’s been a long time that I work with kids, so I know that I have experience with children and I know how to deal with them very well. I believe that I have many positive points to be a great a nanny for you , the reason why is I’ve been working as nanny in VA since August 2019. The first time meeting the kids that I took care they were 3 and 6 years old I passed 2 years with them. My schedule was 45 hours a week, Monday through Friday, in the morning I had to get the oldest ready to go and drop him off at school and pick him up. I gave them some chores to teach them how to be responsible, I always taught them how to be caring and patient with others. I also taught the youngest boy along this 2 years how to read. Today he can read first grade books and he’s in kindergarten. After that I worked as a nanny for 3 months to other family and I took care of two kids, a girl who was 3yo and a baby boy who was 14 months.

Feel free to text me.

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Oklahoma City, OK

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Oklahoma City Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Oklahoma City? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Oklahoma City?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in OK? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.

Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny

Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
