A little bit about me

Hello my name is Jazmine Dunmore, I am a currently part time student transferring to PCC. My major is human services, I want to specifically work with a the troubled youth as a juvenile parole officer. I’ve always loved working with children and I knew that would be my calling one day. I have had one and a half years of nanny experience. Responsible for nutritional meals, transporting to after school programs, swimming lessons, music lesson and the occasional fun outings. I was also responsible for bedtime routines ; brush teeth, floss, bath, dry hair and the bed time story. As the children started school I began to do a little tutoring as well. The kids worked well with me and there mother was seeing a big attitude adjustment from the both of them. I still see that kids no and then, they think of me as a big sister.

A little bit about me

I am 21 years old with minimal professional nanny experience, however I have watched numberous of my friends and family’s kids. Iim sure you’ve heard that from a lot of young adults wanting to watch your precious children, but I assure you I am not most young adults. I have worked with the local little leagues as both a volunteer as well as a coach, and I am the player coordinator for the Little League Softball World Series yearly here in Portland. I am looking to expand my experience with all types of childcare to hopefully start my own daycare in a few years to help those in need at a reasonable rate compared to the costs I’ve seen around the areas.

I have a current full time job as an office administrator, however it is very stressful and I wish to lower my hours there to help make a difference for those who might not have the extra help they desire.

I love to cook and clean, so I don’t mind picking up after kids all day or doing some laundry or dishes while they nap. I do not like electronics that much, so I will respect any rules you may have regarding TV, computer, games, and phone time.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

A little bit about me

I am a 16 year old junior in online school so I have very flexible hours. People tell me I am very calm, caring, and understanding with children and I can manage any behaviour issues. I love to do all sorts of crafts or cooking. I can also help with homework that your children may have. If needed I am able to do light housework and meal prep. It would be great to have the opportunity to meet you and your family :)

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Beaverton, OR

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Beaverton Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Beaverton? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Beaverton?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in OR? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help
