Joy K. - Seeking Work in The Woodlands

Hourly rate20.00 / hour
Hours (full-time or not)Full-time hours

I am a college educated (developmental psychology) Christian mother who has had 24 years of personal experience raising my own children. After teaching in the private school sector for several years, I decided that I needed to be more available to my family in the evenings. The first family that I worked with was a wonderful experience, and I was with them for six great years. They will be happy to provide references for you if you request them. I was with their children from infancy through second grade. The only reason that I left that position was because the mother decided to leave her professional position to be able to spend more time with her family. I was with my second family for two wonderful years with a beautiful child from 6 months to 2 ½ years old. The mother had her second child and is expecting to stay home for 3-6 months on maternity leave. As it is necessary for me to stay employed full time, I am going to need a new position which I could begin February 1st. References from this family would be available pending a serious offer of employment. I am interested in a full time position, from 35-45 hours per week. My preferred, but negotiable, hours are between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, and I will only be available on weekdays. I would need to be off by 5:00 PM because I am currently taking evening classes for my MA degree in developmental psychology. My rates are commensurate with my education and experience, and have averaged $600/week depending upon the number of children involved and the duties required. I am certified in Child and Infant CPR, do not smoke, do not drink or take drugs, and through many years of experience, I have learned how to handle just about any type of child related emergency! I have a perfectly clean driving / police record, and I have my own transportation. I am also willing to do any household duties which are directly related to the position of childcare, and even though I know a lot about good nutrition for children, I am honestly not a very creative cook. As far as household management, I have had ample experience supervising others who were contracted out to perform functions around the home, such as pool maintenance, plumbing, maid service, and yard work. I would consider it a blessing to be considered as part of your child(ren)'s life, and, if I am given this responsibility, I will treat your children as if they were my own. If you are interested, please respond to me through this site. I will email my resume to serious offers. Thank you for your consideration.

Provided care of many wonderful children from ages infant to teenagers. My nursing skills help me to be watchful and careful with children. Safety is always a mother's concern. I teach children moral values, table manners, proper pronunciation of words... all things important to the development of a young or older child. Childcare is so much more than caring for children. Children need a good role model, someone who can teach them to excel and do their very best. I treat each child with respect and love, as I did with my own children.
