A little bit about me
I'm Megan Torres, a CU student who is currently in their sophmore year. I grew up in the Hudson Valley, NY... which is only about an hour north of Manhattan. I am a double major (by definition) in History and Secondary Education. I love kids and all pets, and even have a pup of my own out here at school with me. I come from a Teacher, Cop, and Air Force household so "discipline" and success is something that has been engrained in me from a young age. (not in a unhealthy way though!) I do go back home to family for holidays and summer break but otherwise I truely love Colorado and all it has to offer! I am fairly free schedule wise, at the moment, the only "extra-curricular" I am involved in is my sorority, Gamma Phi Beta.
I would love to get to know you and your loving family!

A little bit about me
I grew up in Los Cabos, Mexico and I am fully bilingual, and my childhood was something special. I am a former competitive gymnast spending up to 30 hours a week in the gym – I began coaching at age 12. I’ve never not helped take care of children. Being an athlete and coach I learned how to work with kids in a way that encourages them to work with their needs, creativity, and passions as well as learn, but all in a safe and secure environment.
I grew up using my imagination and the outdoors with a combination of my personal hobbies (photography, drawing, baking to sell, swim, dance, music, and inventing homemade contraptions…) to fill my days, as I got older screens were introduced. I seriously discourage screens, unless parents think otherwise, but most of their time with me will be off all devices if possible. We can draw, hike, dance, play outside, climb trees, do makeovers and hair (I studied braids years), build swords… I will encourage a love of imagination with drawing, art, writing, music, and whatever they enjoy doing. Sharing keys of self-discipline along with respect, kindness, good manners is just part of what I will bring to your family. I will also do my best support and care for your babies as individuals.
In challenging moments, I try to approach the child in a nurturing way with compassion and calm communication. I do not reward good behavior because it is expected, but positively reinforce it.
On the other hand, I’m tough. I do not tolerate disrespect of any kind, aggression, or violent behavior to any one, ever. Especially between siblings. Nor will justification for said behavior be accepted. They will be held accountable for their behavior and shown alternate ways to handle the situation.

I am a a positive, outgoing, outdoorsy gal looking for a part-time nannying job for a family in Boulder. I am starting my Master's program for therapy in late August, and I would love to find a long-term part-time position with the right family. I don't have much nannying experience, although I did babysit two kids ages 6 and 9 for a semester in undergrad at CU. I taught at an outdoor education kids camp in Anchorage, AK for a summer in 2017. And I taught kids camps and kids climbing club at the Boulder Rock Club from 2021-22. I am First Aid/CPR certified and WFA certified as well.
If you have any questions about my experience or schedule or anything else, please reach out!
Thanks
