Abbie B. - Seeking Work in Ponte Vedra Beach

Ponte Vedra Beach$17.14/hr  |  < 1 yr experience
My experience with children first started with my family. I have a large family with tons of cousins and I have always been the one who does the baby sitting at family functions and get-togethers. Outside of my family, my first time caring for children was in middle school. I began babysitting for a family in my neighborhood and watched their 1-year-old daughter and 1-year-old niece. Shortly after that I began my experience with being a full time nanny. I was a nanny for my neighbors each summer, five days a week, and all day long. I began this job when I was in 7th grade and went with it each summer through graduating high school except for one summer. This experience taught me a lot about nannying and was a great learning tool. Outside of these two jobs I have had a lot of experience babysitting for different families with children ages newborn up to 13-year-olds. Overall I have about 10 years experience caring for children between babysitting and nannying. My mom is a kindergarten teacher and I spent much of my free time volunteering in her class. I was able to help the children learn and also learn how children develop and grow. I loved this so much that I decided my senior year of high school to teacher cadet in her room where I spent two hours each day with the kids and also had the opportunity to teach the class a few times. Things that I like to do with the children are bake, color, do arts & crafts, play sports, be outside and read books.
