I believe nurturing a child is the most important and central part of being a nanny. Being able to build a safe, loving relationship and offer support to the child and the family is what matters most. To treat someone else's child as your very own is is the key.

I was watching and taking care of my boyfriend's nephews for a time.
One night, the younger boy( I will leave out his name for privacy had a nightmare).
I woke up dead in the night to him crying and yelling for my name. My boyfriend was there at the time and the little boy just kept crying for me. I ran out of the room and held him tight and told him he would be okay. While it was unfortunate that he had a nightmare and was scared, I felt honored that in his time of fright I was the one that he called out for. This was the first time I watched him for a long period of time. I believe that grew our bond and for the rest of the night I held him and we played with dinosaurs before I put him back to bed.

Hi, I’m maci! As the oldest of 6 kids, I’ve grown up around kids, gaining that ‘care provider’ mentality at a young age.
