Hello! My name is Alexis and I can't wait to meet your family!

Last summer I spent some months working at an early education center before I had to focus on my studies. For the longest time all I wanted was to be a Montessori teacher, even giving speeches about it in college. If you don’t know what Montessori is, it’s a teaching method wherein the focus is on the child’s interests and individual development, not set standards for progress. It was and is something I am very passionate about, but I’ve switched focus to International Studies because education, history, human rights and things like that on a global scale are important to me.

This summer I will have one class from 9AM-11AM but I will be free to spend some quality time with your little ones any other time including early mornings and late nights!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have always loved kids considering I come from a large family. I have 14 nieces and nephews and counting, ranging in age from 3 months to 21 years old! Last year I spent an amazing few months working at an Early Education center as an assistant teacher, only leaving to focus on my studies in my first semester of college.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Some of my favorite things to do with the kids at the education center included singing our phonics everyday, lots of playing outside, kid yoga, planting flowers, and other fun stuff! There was a strict no TV policy there and I'm also firmly against it, so you don't have to worry about me sitting them in front of the TV all day. I believe kids should be out and about exploring the world and I hope we get the chance to do so together!

The most important part about being a nanny...

is being able to touch a child's life, offer them love and support, and teach them invaluable lessons. As adults we are often so busy in our own worlds that we don't realize the impact we have on the minds of young ones, but it's true- they're watching everything!
