More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My experience in childcare began when my sister had her children. I was able to offer her services as a live in nanny for the first few months of each of her 5 children's lives. I have also had involvement in childcare through volunteering for summer programs, camps, and art classes. I have served 5 different families as their official childrens caregiver, as well as helping countless occasional friends and family over the years.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing a dig and discover by freezing small exciting items into a block of ice, for small children to work at removing, it can be done both indoors and out, it is an exciting engaging activity that promotes problem solving and encourages imagination, problem solving and discovery!

The most important part about being a nanny...

It matters most to me, I am dedicated to interacting with a child in a manner that will affect their growth in a positive way, 100% of every interaction.

My experience with special needs children...

I have some experience with a close friend's son who is nonverbal, and lives with high needs autism. My most recent family served, one of the children has been diagnosed with oppositional defiance disorder and adhd, so she does require some special needs and behavioral implementations, including help with safely regulating emotions.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When I was in high-school, there was one family with 3 girls that I served full time in the summers. It was my final summer with them, the mother was expecting their fourth girl, and when she was born I found out that the older girls had been allowed to choose the baby's middle name- they chose Amanda as her middle name- and even though it did flow with the name the parents had given her- the parents chose to name their last child after me, because their children loved me so much.
