A little bit about me

Hi! I’m Amy, a 23-year-old Virginia Tech graduate with a passion for working with children. I currently work full time at Ernst & Young but have also spent the past year and a half working part time as a weekend nanny and babysitter.

I have several years of childcare experience, including two years as a daycare specialist during college where I worked with infants and young children. I’ve also coached gymnastics, worked as a summer school teacher, and babysat regularly. In addition, I previously cared for twin one-year-olds and stayed with their family until they were about 3½, which gave me valuable experience managing routines and developmental stages with twins.

I’m now looking to transition into a full-time childcare role and would love the opportunity to grow with a family while supporting children’s development in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Relevant experience where I also cared for children includes working as a daycare specialist for two years during college, coaching gymnastics, working as a summer school teacher, and providing regular babysitting. I also cared for twin one-year-olds for several years until they were about 3½, which gave me strong experience managing routines and developmental stages with multiple young children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy doing a variety of fun and engaging activities with children such as practicing simple gymnastics and movement, going on walks, reading books, playing games, and spending time at the park. I also enjoy doing crafts, encouraging imaginative play, and planning age-appropriate activities that support learning and development. I love creating a positive, active, and nurturing environment where kids can have fun while growing and building confidence.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny, in my opinion, is supporting a child’s development during such important early years. While working as a daycare specialist, I saw firsthand how much children grow and change through consistent care, encouragement, and age-appropriate activities. That experience showed me how important it is to create a safe, nurturing environment where children can learn, build confidence, and reach new milestones.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was watching the baby I first cared for learn how to say my name and eventually take her first steps. Being able to support her through those early milestones and see her grow and gain confidence was incredibly special and one of the most rewarding parts of working with children.

Hi families! I’m Alexandra, originally from Atlanta, GA, and I’ve been in the DC area for the past three years after moving here to earn my Master’s degree from Georgetown University.
