My brother had a child when he was nineteen and because he was at home I became familiar with taking care of him when my family needed me to. After he turned one I started taking care of him almost everyday. I still take care of him, but just not everyday. Our favorite thing is going to the park and making cookies
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love going on hikes and enjoying the outdoors with the kiddos. It is fun while also being rewarding in necessary exercise. There are many activities like picnicking, sports, using chalk, or going to the park are among some things I do with the children I take care of. Also sledding in the wintertime is my favorite.
The most important part about being a nanny...
What matters the most about being a nanny is making sure that any child that is being taken care of have all of their physical and mental needs met. At the end of the day they they should have full bellies as well as a smile on their face :)
My experience with special needs children...
I have cared for a child with severe autism and a child with blindness. There were accommodations that needed to be made in my normal routine of caretaking but it was no problem. It was important to have a lot of patience and understanding and I made sure to use wherever necessary. Overall the kids were great and I made sure their specific needs were met.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moment was when my nephew and I went to the state fair together a rode a lot of fun rides and tried out some delicious foods. I think it was also our first little outing together. I was 18 and he was 5.
