A little bit about me

Hello, my name is Anaelle, I am from France and came to the US around a year ago to study here! I love kids and loved being a nanny when I was in France! I have a lot of energy, I usually wake up pretty early and go to bed pretty late so I can do as much as possible during my days! I love spending time outside, but being inside can also give a lot to do! My English is not the best yet, but I’ve been working on it everyday for the past year so I am definitely getting the hang of it! More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I used to volunteer at my town’s child care center. Growing up my parents could not afford to get me a nanny so they would put me all day at the public child care center that was cheaper, it was my second home. Once I was older, I decided to go volunteer there to help kids like I was once feel comfortable with being away from home all day everyday! It was an amazing experience because I had to take care of multiples children at the same time, my days were crazy and I love it!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I like taking the children I am watching to the park, to the zoo and do a few outdoor activities like these juste because I think that children need to be able to discover the world and put some exercise into their days! If we were to stay inside, I like to stimulate their creativity, as a kid I was really creative and it opens the mind a lot. I like drawing and painting with kids, I like building small things like a picture frame with small branches and a string for example. I like cooking and baking with kids because it always a lot of fun and it also teaches them that every good thing has to be cleaned after! I like reading and having little talks to help children develop their communication skills.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think that the most important part about being a nanny is to make sure that the children are comfortable with their nanny, that they like her and that there is mutual respect. The role of a nanny is the help the parents and it means being part of the child’s life. I think that as a nanny, we have a lot of time exclusively for the children and it is a good moment to help with the children’s communication, making sure that they feel understood and comfortable enough to express their feelings, knowing that their feelings and emotions are valid.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was definitely when I had to take care of one 2 year old little girl and her little brother, we would feed the baby boy together and act as if the spoon was a plane, it is a really basic thing but Romane, the little girl, quickly started to ask me if she could « do the plane » with her brother, she was learning a lot and they were spending some bonding time together and it was amazing to watch and know that I helped for it!
