More About Me
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy creating and planning activities that are both fun and progress the child's physical, cognitive, language, emotional and social skills! The exercises I plan make for educational and memorable experiences. Activities vary depending on each child's age and abilities. Such activities could include listening to songs and mimicking the sounds with percussion instruments, exploring nature, sensory bins, or imaginative play that encourages creativity. One popular activity among the children I have cared for is reading a book and finding objects that appear in the story. I take joy in always coming prepared with crafts to do, games to play, lessons designed to keep the child engaged, etc.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The ability and will to provide affection, knowledge, guidance, and so much more in a safe setting. Also, building a genuine, respectful bond with the child/children as well as the entire family.
My experience with special needs children...
I have cared for children with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), ADHD, and ODD (Oppositional Defiance Disorder). I am comfortable working with children with certain special needs. I am very patient and knowledgeable when it comes to working with ALL kids!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I love providing the opportunity and environment for children to learn, explore, ask questions, and have fun. Seeing kids progress and begin to take the lead in activities is so special to me!
