A little bit about me

Hi, my name is Ashley. I graduated from ASU with my bachelor's degree in family and human development with a focus on infant and toddler development. I have been a nanny for about 15 years. In addition, I'm certified as a developmental disability specialist with a strong background in ABA therapy.
I absolutely love working with kids and have been working with families with children newborn to 5 in recent years but also have experience with older ages.
I have experience with potty training(even in early ages), multiple schedule styles and I'm open to helping set up sleep schedules! I also can help with setting up daily routines and age appropriate activities. I love reading with ages and being creative while bringing learning into every part of the day.
I can renew my first aid and cpr when starting a new position! I also have an active fingerprint clearance card

I would love to talk more about your family's needs!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I've worked in school settings as a Special Education teacher, reading tutor and an ABA therapist in home and in classrooms. I also worked at the Children Museum of Phoenix while I was in college

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love reading! I love library outings and attending the programs offered. I enjoy art and incorporating all different types of crafts into our days. When weather allows, I really enjoy spending time outside going for walks, adventures at the park, swimming, and gardening.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe the most important part of being a nanny is building a relationship with the family. You're there to love and support the kids but also help with the day to day functions and without a solid relationship, it can be tough to do that. I like to feel like I'm a part of the family and the transition from parents to nanny be easy because the kids feel just as loved with me.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked as a special education teacher as well as an ABA therapist. I have done ABA, attending care, respite and HAB work in home

The most important part about being a nanny...

A family I worked with recently had a newborn that would only nap during contact naps. We were okay with that as a family team but I slowly started transitioning to crib and we finally got to a point where she would allow us to transition her for all of her naps as well as at night. Mom and dad were so excited! They told me that I gave them their nights back and it felt so good to be able to help with that!
