More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was apart of a service based group during college where we would go around the greater Spokane area and for each semester work with kids. One semester being the Issac foundation in Spokane that was an afterschool program for children with special needs. The other being the Hutton program also in Spokane which was a group home for children in the foster system.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Outdoor activities such as bike riding, hiking, playing on the playground.
Cooking and teaching them basic kitchen and food safety.
Various educational or fun activities like board games or puzzles ect.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Creating a fun and nurturing environment for children to feel safe and feel at home all while giving parents a piece of mind knowing that their children are in safe and capable hands.

My experience with special needs children...

I have limited experience nannying or babysitting children with special needs. But during college I was apart of a service based group where once a week for an entire semester we spent three hours at an after school care center for children with all different types and levels of needs. It was our job to provide a sense of belonging and normalcy to their every day lives, we would accomplish this by taking them on supervised field trips around the Spokane area and doing every day tasks. One instance being we took the city bus and they navigated us to our destination, what bus to take, where we would stop, what time to be there etc… with us being there to ensure their safety and to lend a helping hand if needed. Other field trips including learning how to grocery shop and navigate a grocery store and get the ingredients needed for our recipe to be made later that day. Overall it was an amazing experience that I will never forget, especially the kids I got to meet and how amazing they were

The most important part about being a nanny...

It was my nanny clients sons stuffed teddy bears birthday one day, so I made paper party hats, baked a birthday cake and decorated their play area to throw a birthday party for his stuffed bear with all of his stuffed animal friends to celebrate with matching party hats.
