Hi, my name is Ava! I’m an 19-year-old UCC student, and I’m currently looking for childcare or nannying opportunities for the upcoming school year as I move to Klamath Falls to attend OIT. I am CPR certified, have my food handler’s permit, and have earned multiple childcare safety certificates through Portland State University. I also hold my Child Development Associate (CDA). I’ve spent the past three years working in early childhood settings, including the RHS Child Development Center and Cobbs Children's Learning Center, caring for infants through preschool-aged children.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I completed high school ECE programs that allowed me to work hands-on in the RHS Child Development Center, where I created developmental activities and assisted with lesson plans for children ages 0–5. I also worked as an assistant teacher at Cobb Children's Learning Center, supporting multiple classrooms, helping with routines, engaging in both fine- and gross-motor activities, and providing individualized support for children with different needs.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love taking walks, reading stories, baking, and messy artwork. I’m very healthy and love to engage if lots of gross motor play with kids so they can have a chance to get those wiggles out.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, the most important part of being a nanny is treating each child as a whole person. I believe in getting down to their level, offering respect, listening to their feelings, and creating a safe space where they feel understood. Building trust and healthy communication helps them feel secure, supported, and free to learn and grow.

My experience with special needs children...

I have provided one-on-one support for children with autism and ADHD while working at Cobb Children's Learning Center. This included following individualized strategies from teaching teams, helping with emotional regulation, offering patient guidance, and adapting activities so each child could participate comfortably and confidently.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moments are when a child really starts to show their own personality — when their interests, humor, and confidence shine through. Watching them grow into themselves is always so rewarding.
