A little bit about me

Hi! I am a senior Social Work student at Longwood University and moving to Richmond to further my professional career. However, my passion for working with children drives me to seek out a consistent nanny job despite my field placement. At my preschool job, I have the affectionate title from my co-teachers as a "toddler whisperer," as all of the children I've worked with have instantly bonded with me. While working as a nanny/babysitter, I have always been an active caregiver, playing scenes like knights, dragons, wizards, and princesses, drawing with the children, and dancing to Danny Go with the kids. I also have experience driving children in my own and my nanny's family vehicles and have all certifications required of a Virginia preschool teacher.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been an assistant preschool teacher, babysitter, nanny-share caregiver, camp counselor, head RA, and my previous internship was in school social work!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to play make believe with kids (especially fantasy-driven scenes), art projects, dancing, going to the park, library, and splash-pad, and reading stories to the kids (I also have taken a children's literature class!)

The most important part about being a nanny...

is having fun with the kids. It broke my heart when one of the pre-K kids work with told me that he loves me because his teachers at school never played with him. All children deserve caregivers who are comfortable in their own skin to play, dance, sing, and actively interact with the children as much as possible! Its also really fun!

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience with older children (9-13) who have ADHD at my summer camp. In addtion, I have personal experience with one of my older siblings being on the autism spectrum.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Every time I ring the doorbell of the family I have babysat the longest for, I immediately hear their 2 and 4 year old yelled "Ms Bea, Ms Bea!!!" while I hear the pitter patter of their feet running to the front door. I would not replace this experience with the world.

Manaswi K. - Seeking Work in Richmond

Live-In Part-Time Child Care Provider Available in Richmond, VA: Manaswi K.

Hi! I’m Manaswi, and childcare has been part of my life for over 10 years. My mom owns a home daycare, so I grew up learning everything from meal prep and tutoring to playtime, routines, and understanding children’s individual needs.

I’ve also taught at a swim school, where I gained experience with child safety and learning, and I’ve tutored and volunteered teaching children to read both in the U.S. and abroad.

I genuinely love being around children and believe childcare is about more than supervision. It’s about making kids feel safe, heard, curious, and confident. I love teaching, playing, creating, and watching children grow into who they are.
