Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Reading, singing and arts&crafts are my favorites . Any outdoor activities such as walking, swimming, skating, yoga, basketball, tennis and many more. Learning skills like sewing or cooking if age appropriate. working on fine motor skills, identifying plants, shapes and animals. For the little ones i focus on sensory play, colors and sign language to help babies to communicate their needs. I am a big supporter of helping kids of all ages, especially little ones, develop self-esteem, confidence, self-validation and self-guided problem solving.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Building a relationship with the family. Of course i focus on the child(ren) but it’s important to align with the family as a friend than a friendly stranger. My job is to help kids grow and develop under my guidance, In a lot of ways i am like a bonus parent, especially when the majority of the child’s time is spent with me. I often experience major milestones in their development and being able to share those moments with their family is important.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with kids who are disabled, non verbal and those with special needs. I also have worked as a speech therapist for kids learning english as a second language as well as a teachers aid. I also have experience with at risk youth with behavioral issues with the stars program.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Too many but i will list a few. teaching twins how to swim, they were so competitive it was funny. The cutest baby i ever had always loved to share my fruit while we watched the birds together under the shade of a tree. Creating a bond with the boy who was miss understood in his group- watching him come out of his shell and open up to me was a tearful moment. Watching a bright and cheerful toddler develop language skills while discovering the world around her.
