as an assistant coach at my home Taekwondo school in Portland Oregon, I would assist my head coach in training our youth team three times a week. As an athlete and team leader, I took on a mentorship role for the youth athletes inside and outside training hours.
Campus Kids Mentor:
I was a mentor for a 4th-grade student at a nearby elementary school. I would see him at scheduled programming twice a week where we would do activities promoting social and emotional learning and I would also visit his school twice a week to strengthen our mentor-mentee relationship and help him with his schoolwork.

I got hands-on experience in a school environment where I helped students complete lesson plans as well as aided in conflict resolution.
